Belinda is head of the firm’s Real Estate department.
Belinda has over 25 years’ experience in all aspects of commercial real estate and acts for all types of real-estate clients including property companies, occupiers, joint ventures and funds. She is particularly well-known for her occupier experience, acting on all types of office, retail, data centre and industrial properties.
The Legal 500 has described Belinda as “a no-nonsense straight-talking lawyer”.
Belinda is a member of the sub-committee commissioned by the British Property Federation to draft a standard commercial lease known as the Model Commercial Lease (MCL) which launched in July 2014. She was also instrumental in the creation of the “Clearlet Lease” for Land Securities, a product which has proved to be a popular market-leader and forerunner to the MCL.
Her recent transactions include:
- Purchase of Costco warehouse in Hayes requiring complex development arrangements and dealing with restrictive covenant on title benefitting multiple individuals.
- Dealing with Native letting of aparthotel premises at Ducie Street, Manchester, requiring agreement for lease conditional on planning and development.
- Complex letting of head office space for A T Kearney at the Adelphi Building in London.
Belinda qualified in 1992 and joined Brecher in 2012.
