Nicky is a real estate and real estate finance lawyer with over 25 years’ experience in the field. She is also Joint Managing Partner. She spent a large part of her career in a City firm which became a global law firm, where she specialised in real estate finance and development transactions. Nicky acts for both developers and lenders on a regular basis, mainly on mid-market transactions. She has a reputation for giving pragmatic, clear straightforward commercial advice and particularly enjoys the management of large, time-pressured transactions where her organisational abilities, experience and attention to detail help in managing what can often be a fraught process. Nicky is recommended in Legal 500 as someone who “articulates complex legal issues clearly” a skill much needed in the world of real-estate development.
Nicky is also the firm’s Training Partner and organises the firm’s comprehensive training programme, focused on the delivery of legal excellence.
Nicky writes regularly for the property and legal press and has been published in The Times, The Guardian, Daily Telegraph and the Financial Times as well as writing regularly for Estates Gazette and The Lawyer Magazine. She was, for many years, The Lawyer’s regular restaurant reviewer, managing to combine her marketing and client care with her other passion, eating out and writing about it. She can still tell you where you should eat out. She still writes about food and diet and has her own food blog which can be found at thefoodjudge.com; her legal writing can be found at strictlylegal.me. You can follow her on Twitter @notalwayslegal and @thefoodjudge.
