Michelle is a partner in the Real Estate Finance and Banking team and is head of the secured lending and short term finance team.

Michelle has considerable experience in acting for lenders in the high volume, fast-paced short-term lending market, on both regulated and unregulated loans ranging from £100,000 to £15 million. Michelle and her team act on a variety of short-term loan types including residential bridges, buy-to-let, portfolio refinance, debt restructuring, auction purchases, refurbishment bridges and development exit. She advises on priority arrangements and is knowledgeable on title insurance and other indemnity policies commonly utilised on fast-paced lending.

Michelle also has expertise advising on a range of development loans from small-scale sites and heavy refurbishments to large-scale, high-value complex sites with multiple titles and phased works. She advises on priority arrangements between senior and mezzanine funders, planning agreements and grants of easements to statutory undertakers. On the sale of units following the completion of the development, Michelle has set up streamlined redemption processes to deal with high-volume sales and consents.

Michelle works closely with the insolvency team, which has resulted in her dealing with numerous residential and commercial disposals for lenders under powers of sale or receivership and administration. This work has also involved managing commercial property portfolios for lenders and receivers and advising on recovery strategies.
