Property Litigation Solicitors – (4 – 6yr PQE)

The Role

The firm is seeking a Property Litigation Lawyer (4–6 PQE) to join a property litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to take on meaningful responsibility, manage a varied caseload, and work closely with Partners who are leaders in the field.

You will advise on a broad range of contentious property matters, acting for both commercial and residential clients. The role offers strong client contact, autonomy, and the opportunity to contribute to business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied and often fast‑moving caseload of commercial and residential property disputes.
  • Handle a broad range of matters across the full spectrum of commercial and residential property litigation, including:
    • Commercial landlord and tenant disputes
    • Residential landlord and tenant disputes
    • Acting for lenders, receivers and Insolvency Professionals in property related matters and enforcement and borrower disputes
    • Lease renewals (1954 Act)
    • Dilapidations and service charge disputes
    • Forfeiture and possession proceedings (commercial and residential)
    • Disrepair claims
    • Professional negligence claims
    • Boundary and party wall disputes
    • Easements, rights of way, and restrictive covenant issues
    • Breach of covenant claims
  • Provide the day-to-day point of contact for clients and manage their requirements and demands appropriately. Deliver clear, commercial, and pragmatic advice to clients.
  • Prepare and manage cases through all stages of litigation, including drafting pleadings, witness statements, instructions to counsel and preparing for and attending hearings and trials.
  • Conduct negotiations and attend mediations and settlement meetings.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients and maintain strong, long‑term relationships.
  • Supervise junior members of the team where required.
  • Support partners and senior fee‑earners on complex and high‑value cases as well as running cases independently.
  • Work collaboratively across the team, providing assistance during busy periods and contributing to a positive, high‑performing working culture.
  • Maintain excellent file management, billing discipline, and compliance standards.
  • Assist with business development, networking, and client training

Experience & Skills Required

  • 4–6 years’ post‑qualification experience in property litigation.
  • Strong technical grounding in property litigation, ideally gained from a reputable city, national, or leading regional firm.
  • Demonstrable experience handling a busy and diverse caseload with limited supervision.
  • Exposure to both commercial and residential disputes (experience weighted toward one or the other is acceptable if there is appetite to develop).
  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines and managing fluctuating workloads.
  • Strong client‑facing experience and the confidence to advise directly.
  • Solid litigation experience, including familiarity with the County Court, High Court, and relevant tribunals.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and run files independently.
  • A proactive, commercial, and client‑focused approach.
  • Team player with a willingness to support wider departmental goals.
