Peter worked for nearly ten years following qualification in the real estate team of a City firm, before joining Brecher for the first time in 2011. He then worked for several years building up an in-house real estate function for NHS Wales, before re-joining Brecher in 2019.

Peter has a broad transactional real estate practice, encompassing: landlord and tenant matters in the retail, office and industrial sectors, acting for both landlords and tenants and frequently for high profile institutional clients; investment acquisitions and portfolio purchases for UK-based and overseas investors, including joint ventures; development agreements, overage provisions and option and pre-emption agreements; and property and development finance matters, representing institutional lenders and specialist mezzanine funders.

Some of Peter’s recent work includes:

  • Acting on the headquarters relocation of a health board to a new 50,000 sq ft development (reported in the press as “the biggest office acquisition in Wales this year”)
  • Advising on the conditional contract for the acquisition of land adjacent to a major hospital site in connection with its planned strategic redevelopment and expansion
  • Negotiating the letting of retail premises in a several hospitals to a global catering and support services organisation, including turnover rent provisions delivering “uplifted” rental payments.
